Natural finish, which contains no coloring, produces an effect that accentuates the contrast between the pale golden color of the natural wood and it’s dark brown knots.
Artemis Pine has an attractive, fine grain structure that is reminiscent of “heart” or “longleaf” pine and is caused by the shortness of the growing season in the northern climates where it is found. Knots are tight, sound, and profuse, with occasional shallow “pick-ups” — no more than one or two per board, not to exceed ¼″ deep, and none with edges sharp enough to ladder a pair of lady’s stockings. These small concavities may be filled or left open for a natural effect. The overall appearance of Artemis Pine is of a refined character grade.
